Hanoi – Halong – Hoi An – Nha Trang – Phan Thiet – Ho Chi Minh – Phu Quoc
Vietnam might have been late to Southeast Asia’s beach party, but it was worth the wait. The country boasts more than 3400km of coastline, with infinite stretches of powdery sand, hidden coves, lovely lagoons, impossible boulder formations and tropical islands ringed with yet more beaches.
ITINERARY
Day 1: Hanoi Arrival Upon arrival, our private Vietnam Tours guide and driver will welcome your Vietnam Holiday to Hanoi, a city where the exotic chic of old Asia blends with the dynamic face of new Asia. Where the medieval and modern co-exist. A city with a blend of Parisian grace and Asian pace, an architectural museum piece evolving in harmony with its history, rather than bulldozing through like many of the region’s capitals. Hanoi is where imagination becomes reality. Free at leisure. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi – Ha Long Cruise Meals: B, L, D +Guide Halong Cruise must be the most beautiful tour in Vietnam for any visitors to Vietnam. This morning, after breakfast, we drive to Halong Bay (165km), Vietnam most scenic sight, a recognized World Natural Heritage Site and highlight of any Vietnam Tours. 11:30 Arrive at Bai Chay/Halong pier. 12:15 Transfer by tender to the Indochina Sails boat – enjoy Welcome Drink. Receive cruise briefing and check in to cabins and begin cruise. 13:00 Lunch - deluxe Vietnamese and International Set Menu. Massage service is available beginning after lunch and throughout the cruise. 14.30 Arrive at Titop Island. Enjoy swimming, relaxing on the beach and climbing the steps to the top of the mountain on the island for fantastic views and photo opportunities. Water and towels supplied. We will spend about 45 minutes on the island.
16.15 Arrive at the Bat Cave area. There are two programs to choose from at this time. One option is a 40 minute kayaking program to the nearby Bat Cave and lagoon and surrounding waters. Kayaking is $10. per person unless already booked as part of your package. Water is supplied. The second option is to visit the largest floating fishing village in Halong Bay. We will travel to the village on the tender and tour the village for approximately 20 minutes. 18:30 Arrive at Luon Bo area - anchor for overnight. 19:00 Dinner - deluxe Vietnamese & Western Buffet or Set Menu Dinner. 20:30 Evening activities include: film entertainment in the dining room at approximately 9:15, board games and playing cards are available, join squid fishing from the boat with our crew, massage services are available. Also at this time we offer, when possible - depending on weather conditions, an excursion to a nearby squid fishing boat. We travel by tender and you will be able to board the squid boat and see how the local fishermen catch squid and other fish, the excursion lasts about 45 minutes. 21:00 – 23:00 Happy Hour! Day 3: Ha Long Cruise Meals: B, L, D 6:45 Coffee, tea and breakfast pastries served in the dining room. 7:00 Arrive at the Surprise Cave area, there is a small fishing village here. Relax onboard. You may join Tai Chi instruction on the sundeck at 7:00, duraion about 30 minutes. 7:45 Enjoy Breakfast Set Menu or Buffet served in the dining room. 8:30 Transfer by tender to the “Day Boat” and begin to cruise to some of Halong Bay’s more secluded and untouched locales. Exact locations depend on tide conditions. Enjoy a leisurely day of kayaking and swimming. A multi-course lunch will be served mid-day. 16:00 Return by tender to the Indochina Sails boat. 18:30 Arrive at Luon Bo area - anchor for overnight. 19:00 Dinner - deluxe Vietnamese and Western Buffet or Set Menu Dinner. 20:30 Evening activities include: film entertainment in the dining room at approximately 9:15, board games and playing cards are available, join squid fishing from the boat with our crew, massage services are available. 7:00 Arrive at the Surprise Cave area, there is a small fishing village here. Relax onboard. You may join Tai Chi instruction on the sundeck at 7:00, duraion about 30 minutes. 8:00 Transfer by tender to the Surprise Cave. Walk up the 100 steps to the entrance of the cave and tour on foot for approximately 45 minutes. 9:00 Upon return to the boat take time to freshen up and please check-out of cabins. Please leave heavy luggage outside of the cabins (staff will transfer to the pier). Depart for Bai Chay/Halong pier. 9:30 Enjoy Breakfast Set Menu or Buffet served in the dining room. Settle bills in the dining room after breakfast. 10:00 Relax on the sundeck or in the dining room and enjoy the bay scenery as we approach the pier. 10:45 Arrive at Bai Chay/Halong pier. 11:00 Transfer by tender to the pier, relax inside the pier building while waiting for return transportation. Transfer to Hanoi Airport for afternoon flight to Da Nang. Overnight in Da Nang
Day 5 & 6: Hoi An Meals: B Hoi An Ancient Town - highlight of any tour to Vietnam that no Vietnam Tours maker would skip, is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. Its buildings and its street plan reflect the influences, both indigenous and foreign, that have combined to produce this unique heritage site. Days free to cycle through rice paddies in the countryside of Hoi An ancient town, shop for souvenirs among the antique shops and art galleries, or just sit at sidewalk cafes and soak up the atmosphere of this quaint town. Or relax on the white sandy beach of the famous China Beach. Overnight in Hoi An.
Meals: B +Guide After breakfast, our Vietnam tour guide in Hoi An will tranfer you to Da Nang airport for the flight to Nha Trang. Upon arrival pick up and transfer to the hotel. Free at leisure. Overnight in Nha Trang.
Day 8: NhaTrang Meals: B You will have one day boat trip. Firstly we will go to Mun Island, the best site for snorkeling where you will see lots of live colorful corals and fish. This site has been officially protected under the support of Danish Government. Relax, sunbath and swimming at Tam island. Then visit Tri Nguyen Aquarium on Mieu Island. At this place, you will see the life of the many sea species of Nha Trang ocean that being made in a smaller world of this aquarium. Return to Nha Trang about 16.00. Overnight in Nha Trang.
Day 9: NhaTrang – Phan Thiet Meals: B + Guide This morning, we take a private car transfer to Phan Thiet (5 hours). Once a part of the Cham Kingdom, it’s now a perfect stop for Vietnam beach holidays and to end your Vietnam Holiday, an unremarkable town with a reasonable beach, some decent hotels, and a very good golf course. In a nice setting with white sand beaches and coconut trees, the beach resort of Phan Thiet is also endowed with amazing spots such as sand dunes, natural lakes and astonishing red canyons. Phan Thiet still has sizeable populations of Cham and Raglai ethnic minority groups. The former are a part of the area’s Cham heritage. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel, free time at leisure. Overnight Phan Thiet.
Meals: B Days are free at leisure for you to write about your Vietnam Tours experience or to explore the area including the fishing village of Mui Ne which locates at the far end of the beach, the village and several hectares of massive rolling sand dunes make a pleasant diversion from relaxing on the beach, swimming and windsurfing. The village is worth a visit for three reasons – firstly, very few tourists go further than the dunes, secondly, the small harbour is picturesque (there’s an excellent view from where the dunes road turns off) and thirdly, there’s an interesting pagoda where followers of Vietnam’s whale cult hold services and store skeletons of the massive sea mammals. Day 11: Phan Thiet – Ho Chi Minh Meals: B After a morning sunbathing on the beach where the seashells outnumber the people, we travel back to Ho Chi Minh city (230km). Upon arrival transfer to the hotel for check in. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.
Day 12: Ho Chi Minh – Cu Chi Tunnels – Ho Chi Minh Meals: B +Guide Morning pick up from the hotel for Cu Chi Tunnels tour, en route to visit the bustling market at Thu Dao Mot. Upon arrival in Cu Chi, we visit the incredible underground tunnel network of approximately 200 kilometres hand-constructed by Vietnamese guerillas during the long struggle for independence where you will understand more about the Vietnam War or American War, a must see Vietnam Tour for any tourists to learn about Vietnam past and present days. Afternoon drive back to Ho Chi Minh.
Day 13: Ho Chi Minh – Can Tho Meals: B +Guide Today we will start our exploration of the Mekong Delta, a major rice producing area. This must be one of the most fascinating riverine deltas in the world. The Mekong splits into nine major arteries. A vast network of rivers and waterways with thousands of ships of all sizes plowing the waters gives the Mekong Delta a very special atmosphere and no doubt one of the most interesting destinations for Vietnam Tours. On arrival, we will make a boat trip to the Cai Be floating Market, visit villages and meet the people of the Mekong Delta. Continue your boat trip to An Binh Island for Lunch in a local family and bike trip in the afternoon. Continue to Can Tho – the heart of Mekong Delta in Vietnam. Check in on your arrival, free at leisure and overnight in Can Tho. Day 14: Can Tho – Phu Quoc Meals: B +Guide In the morning, we make the boat cruise to see the Cai Rang floating market (the nicest one with heaps of rowing boats), truly highlights of any Vietnam Tours where you will enjoy the beautiful scenery and see the daily activities of the locals who live along the Mekong canals and later, you will roam through the village to visit a rice husking mill, a rice noodles making shop which are nice chances to discover the daily life of Vietnamese people in Mekong Delta. Around noon, transfer to Can Tho airport for the short flight to Phu Quoc. Met on arrival and transfer to your resort. Overnight in Phu Quoc.
