Day 1: Phnom Penh Arrival Meals: None +Guide Phnom Penh, the first stop for your Indochina tours, once the ‘Pearl of Asia’, Phnom Penh’s shine was tarnished by the impact of war and revolution. But that’s history, and Phnom Penh has risen from the ashes to take its place among the cool capitals of the region. After touching down in Cambodia's capital, take a city tour by cyclo to learn about the country's history and culture. Visit the historic displays at the National Museum and the glittering buildings of the Royal Palace before heading to Wat Phnom for sunset views of the city. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Day 2: Phnom Penh cooking class Meals: B, L +Guide BF at hotel and then our driver will wait y 09.00-10.00AM: Market visit with teacher, learn about Cambodian foods and buy all things needed for the cooking lesson. 10.00-12.00PM: Prepared for cooking then start cooking. Lunch with what you have cooked. Back to hotel and O/V in PNH
Day 3: Phnom Penh City Tour Meals: B, L +Guide After breakfast, we start our Indochina tours with the visit to Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda, Raung Damrei and National Museum. In the afternoon, visit Toul Sleng (S21) and Cheung Ek of Killing Filed. Rest time for visiting Central Market. Overnight in Phnom Penh Day 4: Phnom Penh – Flight to Siem Reap Meals: B +Guide BF at hotel and then our driver will wait and pick you to airport for your flight to Siem Reap (VN 1105 PNH 12:35 REP 13:25). Upon arrival our driver will wait and pick you to hotel for check in. Free at your own leisure and O/V in REP
Meals: B, D +Guide Siem Reap is no doubt a surprise for your Indochina tours. After breakfast, you are free at leisure. In the afternoon, we take you to the cooking class (you can choose in the morning 9AM or afternoon 3 or 4PM) at Alliance Art Café Restaurant. 04.00-05.00PM: Market visit with teacher, learn about Cambodian foods and buy all things needed for the cooking lesson. 05.00-07.00PM: Prepared for cooking then start cooking. Dinner with what you have cooked. Back to hotel.
Day 6: Siem Reap Tour Meals: B +Guide BF at hotel and then our guide and driver will wait and trans
fer you to do the temple tour to South Gate of Angkor Thom, Bayon Temple, Terrace of Elephant and Leper King, Phimean Akas and Ta Phrom Temple. Afternoon visit Angkor Wat Temple and sunset from the Bakheng Hill. O/V in REP.
Day 7: Siem Reap – Flight to Hanoi Meals: B +Guide BF at hotel, free at your own leisure till we transfer you to the airport for the flight to Hanoi (VN 842 REP 18:05 HAN 19:45). Upon arrival, our private Vietnam Tours guide and driver will welcome your Indochina holiday, pick up and transfer to the hotel for check in. In the evening, we enjoy a fantastic traditional water puppet show and welcome dinner at a very nice Vietnamese restaurant. Free at leisure. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 8: Hanoi Meals: B Hanoi, a city where the exotic chic of old Asia blends with the dynamic face of new Asia. Where the medieval and modern co-exist. A city with a blend of Parisian grace and Asian pace, an architectural museum piece evolving in harmony with its history, rather than bulldozing through like many of the region’s capitals. Hanoi is where imagination becomes reality. Free at leisure. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 9: Hanoi Cooking Class Meals: B, L + Guide After breakfast, we tran 9.30 am. Meet at HCC, enjoy a special “La Han” Vietnamese welcome tea 9.40 am. Brief introduction to Vietnamese cuisine, highlighting the contents of tradition meal. 9.50 am. Take a short walk to the Chau Long Market - Enjoy a tour of the market highlighting the ‘wet’ / unusual fruits / livestock / silk worms, with HCC chefs 10.20 am. Back to HCC and commence cooking class with HCC chefs, take home printed recipes as well as samples of some local fruit, green bean cake, quail eggs, etc. 12.00 pm. On completion of the cooking class, enjoy the meal and a chance to chat with Tracey Lister and Linh , relax in the comfort of the HCC dining area and enjoy a local beer or wine or lemon juice 1.00 pm. Day 10: Hanoi – Ha Long Cruise Meals: B, L, D + Guide
Overnight on board. Day 11: Ha Long Cruise – Hanoi – Hue Meals: B, L + Guide It is said that your Indochina tours will not be complete without a trip to Halong Bay and spending one night on romantic Halong Cruise. People describe Halong Bay as majestic and mysterious, inspiring and imperious and words alone cannot do justice to the natural wonder that is Halong Bay. Imagine 3000 or more incredible islands rising from the emerald waters of the Gulf of Tonkin and you have a vision of breathtaking beauty. Halong Bay is pure art, a priceless collection of unfinished sculptures hewn from the hand of nature. It is absolutely true when you get up early to catch the sunrise on the bay, doing Ta Chi on sundeck and relax with a cup of hot coffee or tea when the boat cruising to explore more of Halong Bay. Day 13: Hue – Hoi An Meals: B, L + Guide After breakfast, we drive to Hoi An, a major Asian trading port in the 17th and 18th centuries whose architecture and relaxed lifestyle has changed little over the years and for sure, Hoi An is a wonderful destination for all kinds of Indochina tours. This scenic drive passes through the fishing village of Lang Co before climbing over the Pass of Ocean Clouds. Along the way, stop in Danang to visit the Cham Museum which contains the finest collection of Cham sculptures in the world. Upon arrival in Hoi An, free to take walking tour of the Hoi An ancient town centre. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 14: Hoi An cooking class (from 8.15am – 1pm) Meals: B, L + Guide We start the day (8.15am) with a welcome drink at Hai Café (98 Nguyen Thai Hoc Street, Hoi An Ancient Town, Tel: 3863210) – our meeting point. Visit Hoi An’s colourful market, and experience the amazing sights, sounds and aromas of this busy market. We will have the opportunity to interact with the local sellers and learn about all the ingredients to be used in the cooking lesson later.
On arrival, we explore the cooking school’s herb garden, before learning about some of Hoi An’s and Vietnam’s well-known dishes. The cooking lesson runs for about 2 hours – the Red Bridge chefs first demonstrate each dish before we prepare the same dish ourselves. Included in the class is a brief introduction to Vietnamese food carving (plate decoration). After the lesson, we sit down and eat what we have cooked. Bring your swimsuit and after the cooking tour has finished relax and enjoy free use of our new 20 metre swimming pool. Overnight in Hoian.
Day 15: Hoi An Meals: B Hoi An Ancient Town - highlight of any tour to Vietnam that no Indochina tours maker would skip, is an exceptionally well-preserved example of a South-East Asian trading port dating from the 15th to the 19th century. Its buildings and its street plan reflect the influences, both indigenous and foreign, that have combined to produce this unique heritage site. Day free to cycle through rice paddies in the countryside of Hoi An ancient town, shop for souvenirs among the antique shops and art galleries, or just sit at sidewalk cafes and soak up the atmosphere of this quaint town. Or relax on the white sandy beach of the famous China Beach. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 16: Hoi An – Danang – Ho Chi Minh Meals: B +Guide After breakfast, our Vietnam tour guide and driver in Hoi An will transfer you to the airport for the morning flight to Ho Chi Minh (VN). Arrive at Tan Son Nhat airport, transfer to the hotel in Saigon, the most exciting city of Vietnam, a mecca of commerce, also a city with a chequered history and a rich culture, its pagodas, museums, public buildings, parks and boulevards make it one of the most delightful places to visit in Vietnam.
