ITINERARY
Day 1: Bangkok Arrival Meet & Greet with your tourguide at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport. Transfer to Prince Palace Hotel or similar. Rest of the day at leisure to adjust to time and temperature. Possibility for afternoon or evening optional tour. Overnight at Prince Palace Hotel ***(*) or similar
Day 2: Bangkok Meals: B
Day at leisure. Recommended Optional: Optional Full Day Tour “Bangkok Classic”: Visit Wat Traimitr, Grand Palace/Wat Phra Keo, Wat Po and Klongtour including lunch. Overnight at Prince Palace Hotel ***(*) or similar
Day 3: Bangkok – Ayutthaya – Phitsanlok Meals: B + Guide ABF at hotel. Depart by airconditioned vehicle to Ayutthaya, where you visit Wat Pananchueng and Wat Yai Chaimongkol. Continue to Phitsanulok. En route several stops and lunch at local restaurant. Late afternoon arrive in Phitsanulok and hotel check-in at Amarin Lagoon, situated close to the city center of Phitsanulok. Overnight at Amarin Lagoon Hotel ***, Phitsanulok or similar.
Day 4: Phitsanlok – Sukhothai – Chiang Rai Meals: B, L + Guide ABF at hotel.
Continue to Sukhothai and visit Sukhothai Historical Park. Continue to drive through beautiful landscape to Chiang Rai. En route several stops inclusive a visit of a pineapple or rice farm (depending on season) and lunch at a local restaurant. Late afternoon arrive in Chiang Rai and hotel check-in at Wiang Inn, situated in the centre of town. Overnight at Hotel Wiang Inn ***(*), Chiang Rai or similar.
Day 5: Chiang Rai – Golden Triangle – Chiang Rai Meals: B, L + Guide ABF at Hotel.
Continue to Mae Sai, the border town to Myanmar. Lunch at a local restaurant followed by a stroll through the huge market. Return to Chiang Rai. Overnight at Hotel Wiang Inn ***(*), Chiang Rai or similar.
Day 6: Chiang Rai – Thatorn – Chiang Rai Meals: B, L + Guide ABF at hotel.
Lunch in Thatorn overlooking Kok River. Continue to Chiang Mai with brief stops at a picturesque local market and at Chiang Dao caves. Before checking in at your hotel, short drive up the hillside to Chiang Mai‘s most impressive temple, Doi Suthep, 1056 m. above sea level. The view from the top is spectacular. Overnight at Empress Hotel***(*), Chiang Mai or similar.
Day 7: Chiang Rai Meals: B, L + Guide ABF at hotel.
Optional: Enjoy an elephant ride (Baht 600.- p. p / subject to change). Continue to visit a beautiful orchid farm. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon see some of Chiang Mai’s most beautiful temples and visit the world famous handicraft centres of Chiang Mai and visit some workshops of local craftsmen. After dinner you have the possibility to visit the huge Night Bazaar. Overnight at Empress Hotel***(*), Chiang Mai or similar.
Day 8: Chiang Mai – Bangkok Meals: B + Guide ABF at hotel. Transfer to airport Chiang Mai for departure. Departure flight from Chiang Mai to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport by TG103 (Dep. Visit Wat Phra Sri Ratana Mahathat with the world famous Buddha statue of “Phra Buddha Jinarat”.
Drive North to visit Chiang Saen, the former capital fo the first Thai Kingdom, situated directly on the Mekong River. Short visit of its most important temple and the Opium museum. Enjoy a thrilling longtail speed boat on the mighty Mekong river along the banks on the Laotian side of the river. Visit the viewpoint of the infamous Golden Triangle where Laos, Burma and Thailand meet.
Drive through mountainous landscape to Thatorn. En route visit a Yao & Akha hilltribe village as well as Mae Salong, beautifully situated on a mountain.
Drive North to visit an elephant camp, where you can see the elephants in their natural jungle habitat.
