Mergui Archipelago is the charming destination in the southernmost of Tanintharyi Division, Myanmar. It is called Myeik Archipelago or Myeik Kyunzu as well. It has more than 800 islandsin many sizes and shapes. Among them, Thahtay Kyun Islandnow is a famous recreation center with its five-star casino and golf resort, the Andaman Club.  Besides, an amazing diversity of flora, fauna and very beautiful underwater scenesof the islands and surroundings will give you the most unforgettable experiences.

Due to that Myanmar negotiated with dive operatorsof Thailand, foreign tourists have been travelling to Mergui Archipelago since 1997. However, many parts of it have not been touched because of the isolated location.

Diving in the Mergui is really excellent despite of the environmental threats. Mergui Archipelagois too remote, consequently, visitors who can dive only by a live aboard cruise in Big Bank, Rainbow Reef or Silvertip Bank areas. The best time for diving is from December to April as well as watching whale sharks and manta rays is from February to May. Furthermore, frogfish, ghost pipefish, ribbon eels and cowriesormany crustaceanswill satisfy people who are fond of photography.

Additionally, there are not many live boards to Mergui Archipelago; therefore, maybe you will feel lonely on the dive site. Some boats come from famous diving sites in Thailand such as Phuket and Kao Lak.
