According to the plan, Vietnam Airline will launch flights using its new plane, the Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, from Ho Chi Minh City to both Sydney and Melbourne from 05th Dec and open a direct route from Hanoi to Sydney, Australia in April next year.
A representative from Vietnam Airlines in Sydney said that the city is considered a key market, with flights having an annual average carriage frequency of 300,000 passengers.

The first flights of Vietnam Airlines from Ho Chi Minh City to Sydney was launched in 1996. It has become the bridge linking Vietnam and Australia as well as other Oceanian countries.
Since 2011, Vietnam Airlines has daily flights, to create conditions for trade, cultural exchange and tourism development to meet travel demand of two countries.
