Vietnam ranked 4th in list of tourist's dream destination

Vietnam ranks 4th in the list of tourist destinations most searched by tourists.Taiwan is on top-listed, pushing last year's winner Thailand down to second place.

According to data from the travel booking platform Agoda.com, Vietnam ranks 4th in the list of tourist destinations searched by users for the period from now to the end of 2020.

Taiwan tops the search list of all types of travelers from couples, solo, family or groups. "The land of milk tea" pushed last year's champion Thailand to second place, followed by Japan, Vietnam and South Korea. Meanwhile, the US, Australia, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesia hold the rest of the top 10.

Agoda data also shows differences between destinations searched by traveler types. Specifically, Japan and Thailand ranked 2nd and 3rd for solo travelers, respectively, while family travelers were interested in travel offers in Thailand and Vietnam. For group tourists, Vietnam ranked second, followed by Thailand.

Tim Hughes, vice president of business development at Agoda said that although search data showed a shift to domestic travel as the restriction on domestic travel was eased, many people still dream about travelling abroad.

The data also shows a visitor's eagerness to travel and explore their home country, whether solo, with family or with friends.

In fact, although there are not many choices left due to fewer tourist markets that open, tourists around the world still want to set foot in remote lands, as well as explore the beauty of their country. In Vietnam, domestic tourism is also a priority choice from now to the end of the year for tourists with no foreign destinations appearing on the list of any type of Vietnamese tourists at this time.

Nha Trang is becoming popular with all groups of tourists, striking Da Nang to take lead. Going into each travel group, the Agoda survey found that solo travellers also also prefer Nha Trang, while last year the destination ranked 7th. Ho Chi Minh City fell to 10th and was replaced by Da Lat as the 5th most searched destination of 2020.

According to Mr. Tim Hughes, there is the fact that tourists still hope that by the end of this year the travel corridor will be reopened to some important markets where the COVID-19 epidemic is well controlled and they are still leaving. Keep an eye on great deals so you can hit the road.

At the meeting and working session of the delegation of Vietnamese representative missions abroad for the 2020-2023 term with the recent Ho Chi Minh City Business Association, many comments suggested to the delegation about the desire to support the work, promote and advertise Vietnamese tourism, thereby actively supporting travel tourism businesses.

According to Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky - Chairman of Vietravel Company, as soon as the disease is gradually controlled, businesses are on their way to resume operations, including plans to welcome international visitors. And diplomatic agencies, especially embassies will play an important role, helping to connect back to the international market for tourism businesses.
