Used to be the capital of Vietnam for centuries, Hue has long been known as the soul and heart of many Vietnamese and traveling to Hue is a dream. In Hue, there are many historical and cultural monuments for tourists to visit such as the Royal Citadel, Thien Mu pagoda, Tombs of King Minh Mang, Tu Duc, Khai Dinh, etc.
If you do not like pagodas, temples, tombs, it is highly recommended to book a tour to explore Bach Ma national park, Thanh Toan countryside village or Tam Giang lagoon to shoot amazing photos of fishermen.
Hue is also famous for its romantic Perfume River and charming girls in traditional long dresses with conical hats which are the inspiration for many poets to compose famous poems and songs.
Some recent years, western tourists do not want to visit Hue as before and the reasons are:
- It is very hot in Hue during summer
- Not interested in pagodas and temples after having seen a lot in Angkor, Cambodia
- The entrance fees to tourist sites are expensive
- Tourism products are poor
However, Vivutravel always advises tourists to stay in Hue for 1 night during their Vietnam travel because there is no other places like Hue in Vietnam where tourists can learn much about Vietnamese history, culture and taste delicious cuisine.
