Barbara's is the place to go, and most backpackers could do worse than just settle in here.
You'll get an English-speaking staff, good food, meet everyone else who happens to be in town, and it's close to the beach. Also, the dorm beds are by far the cheapest sleeps in town.
We sort of thought on our last visit, thought, that the 'antiquated charm' of the rooms had started to cross the line into 'just plain old.' And the staff, when Barbara isn't there, aren't very informative. There's an information book available to page through it's useful, but it's getting a little out of date and it somewhat oversells Qui Nhon's attractions. Still, we give it good marks since it's a great place to hang out, and the home-style western menu is one of the best, soul-satisfying bills of fare we've had in the whole country. The prices are right, too, so definitely head here for a meal.
