Vivu travel-An excellent, professionally run Vietnamese tour operator
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 25, 2015 NEW

From the time we were first met at Ho Chi Minh airport by a local English speaking tour guide at the start of the trip to the departure from Hanoi over two weeks later our party of four New Zealanders could not fault the services of Vivu Travel.

All guides and drivers we very helpful and could not do enough for us.They had an in depth knowledge of places we had planned to go to on our trip right throughout Viet Nam.

The hotels we were put in in the various cities were of a good standard and the hotel staff were also extremely helpful in suggesting local places to go and see and eat.

The travel vans were spacious and comfortable with very good air conditioning.

The company is very professionally run and we would highly recommend this company to people wanting an interesting and varied holiday in Viet Nam.

+ Guide

After pick-up at your hotel, you enjoy a half day excursion to the famous Cu Chi tunnels. This network of tunnels, which stretched for over 200km, became legendary during the 1960s.

Cu Chi tunnels played a vital part in the U.S.-Vietnam War in that they allowed the Viet Cong to control a large rural area only 30 to 40 km from former Saigon .

At its height, the tunnel system stretched from Saigon to the Cambodian border. The network, parts of which were several levels deep, included innumerable trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centres and kitchens.

Today the remaining tunnels have become a major tourist attraction giving the visitor a unique experience and feel of what underground life during the war must have been like.

The tunnels have been widened for our benefit (otherwise we would not be able to enter them!) For those interested there's even the opportunity to try an AK47 or MK16 at the nearby rifle range (The fee is not included).
