The capital city of the Khmer Empire from 9th-15th century, Angkor used to be forgotten in jungles for centuries. Since discovered, it has become the world's largest religious complex and the most important archaeological sites in South-East Asia. Angkor stretches over some 400 km2, including forest area. Some famous temples are Angkor wat, Bayon, Ta Prohm, Banteay Srei, Phnom Bakheng, Angkor Wat, Baphuon, Pre Rup, Ta Som, Banteay Samré, etc. It is never too late to visit Angkor, but it will be a big regret if you don't come and see with your own eyes.
