Lak Sao

Lak Sao

The Lak Sao Project area is located in the Bolikhamxay Province in Central Laos, approximately 100 kilometres north of the Sepon copper-gold project operated by China Minmetals Corporation.

A new town with a wild-west atmosphere, provides a border, Nampao Checkpoint for crossing to Vietnam and access to limestone Karats Mountains and the Nam Theun protected wildlife area.

The Company’s mining application in the Lak Sao region is currently pending, due to the imposition of a moratorium on the issue of new mineral concessions by the Lao PDR Government. This moratorium is expected to be lifted in mid 2011. Hill End Gold has a 51 per cent interest in the Lak Sao Project with Mekong Resources Pty Ltd, a privately-owned Sydney based company with a strong presence in Laos.

The country is a highly prospective area for precious and base metal deposits. Other project areas in Laos are under review for application or joint venture.
