Day 01

Bangkok – Chiang Mai (Breakfast, Lunch)

Putting up its 21st-century facade for Thailand tour makers, however, Bangkok still keeps its old-school religious pride of holding so many temples and shrines that make the city appealing to Buddhists and Indochina tour makers alike.

Today you will have a city tour visiting Bangkok's most famed temples. Wat Traimit, the Temple of Golden Buddha, famous for its 900-years old five-and-a-half-ton solid gold Buddha image; and then continue to visit Wat Arun, perhaps better known as the Temple of the Dawn, the major landmarks and hottest Thailand postcard image, also a top must-visit site for the Thailand tours. Wat Po follows up, the largest and oldest temple in Bangkok, noted for its reclining Buddha (Phra Buddhasaiyas).

Have lunch in a local restaurant. After lunch, we continue to visit the most famous tourist place in Bangkok: Royal Grand Palace and Emerald Buddha. The Grand Palace adjoins Wat Phra Kaew. Despite the proximity of the two, there's a distinct difference in style between the Thai-styled Wat Phra Kaew and the more European-styled designs of the Grand Palace. After this place we go back to the hotel and free at leisure.

In the evening, Vivutravel's Thailand tour guide will escort you to the airport for the flight to Chiang Mai. Arriving in Chiang Mai at around 9pm, check in and have a relaxing night rejuvenating yourself for tomorrow's Thailand holiday!

Stay overnight in Chiang Mai.

Day 02

Chiang Mai (Breakfast, Lunch)

In the morning, you will break into the mist on a motorcycle all the way to Wat Umong, an amazingly unique temple favored by a great number of Thailand tour makers. Right inside the forest, the temple demonstrates essenence of harmony as you walk in.

Monks feed deer in the early morning and every Thailand holiday spender can give food to the turtles and fish in the pond surrounded by big trees. Signs with Buddha's words of wisdom are fluttering between tree branches, composing a noteless symphony with leaves rustling. One of the most mentioned features of Wat Umong of Thailand travel guidebooks is the underground temple and tunnels filled with miniture Buddha images are worthy a look-see. You will enjoy some hours of stay in this temple out of the norm.

Later, we will be back to Chiang Mai main town and take a tour in the oldest temple of Chiang Mai, Wat Chiang Man before a yummy lunch in a nice local restuarant. In the afternoon, we will take the local transfer, Song Taew or Double Bench, to climb up the mountain to visit Chiang Mai's most famous temple:Wat Doi Suthep Temple. With the white elephant legend, the temple has become one of the most visited sites in Thailand for all Thailand tours.

Later, you will be taken back to hotel for a relaxing afternoon. When the night falls, Chiang Mai is putting up her best dress to present you a spectacular dinner show. As an overview into Thai culture, Kantoke Show impresses Thailand tour fans not only by its outstanding performance but also the cultural soul.

Elephant ride seems to be always a perfect photo to awe your friends back home for your Thailand holiday. Today, we are going to ride these sweet creatures another way: bareback! Sounds scary? Well you won't be after a show-how given by professional mahouts at Ran Tong Elephant Training Camp.

Ride your own elephant, give it the order by hands, you don't need a mahout to whip your giant friend. On elephant's back, you will go through the jungle and reach Mae Sa Waterfall, where you and your giant friends would have so much fun bathing together in the water! Special memory, yes, that is what it is all about for your Thailand holiday!

We will be back to Chiang Mai before lunch. After a quick lunch, you can stretch out legs while we are boating up to Chiang Rai along Mae Kok River. While other Thailand tour makers consider an overland drive to Chiang Rai is the right way to go, you, luckily enough, have an out-of-ordinary experience with Vivuttravel, which including the riverfront villagers waving hello to you from distance. The boat trip will take us about 4 hours and we will get to Chiang Rai at evening.

Check in upon arrival and have a free night in Chiang Rai. Stay overnight in Chiang Rai.

Chiang Rai (Breakfast, Lunch)

Chiang Rai, a border town sitting in peace by Mae Kok River, what brings you so much attention from oversea Thailand tour makers? Today is time to find out!

In the morning, we will take a lovely short boat trip to Chiang Sean. History has blessed with this old little town with rich and vivid tints, and the town itself is noted for an overview of 3 countries, Thailand, Myanmar and Laos, at Golden Triangle. Regardless a somewhat bland stand at Golden Triangle.

Today we will visit the less-known yet richfully informative museum, House of Opium. Opium has been the major economic support of the region before tourism finally took over and yesterdays deserve our attention and learning. We will take a free stroll in town before lunch. After lunch, we will drive back to Chiang Rai, and take a tour in the famous Wat Rong Khun. 'You haven't seen all the temples till you see this!' as some Thailand tour fans claim, the white exterior is overcasted with tiny mirrors that shine out the entire temple shimmering right in front of you. Path leads you to the inside passing by the fire-burning hell where thousands of hands reaching out for mercy, which might get you thinking the real meaning of life and where the true faith lies.
