We just finished an incredible 12 day custom tour of northern Vietnam arranged by Vivu Travel. Our travel consultant Hoai helped us tremendously from initial planning of our custom tour till the end of our trip. She  was reachable any time we contacted her,  and answered all our queries  in a timely manner. She arranged all of the logistics for a custom itinerary that focused on photographing the beautiful scenery of Vietnam, the traditional way of life of the Vietnamese people and the mountain ethnic minorities. We feel that she really went out of her way to create the experience we were looking for and was flexible in making alternative arrangements when our guide suggested changes to our itinerary.  All of the accommodation she arranged was superb.  The hotels were all clean and comfortable and she arranged many unique homestays.

Transportation was an air conditioned travel van with an experienced professional river. Our driver, Nghia was personable and very cautious in safely driving the scenic high mountain passes. The vehicle was clean and  comfortable and there was always fresh drinking water available.

Our guide, Quang, had an excellent command of the English language and his knowledge about Vietnamese history and present day Vietnam was extensive  He had a thorough understanding of Vietnamese culture as well as the culture of the ethnic minorities.   He was very intuitive to the type of experience we were looking for and suggested itinerary changes to enhance our experience. Quang introduced us to local Vietnamese cuisine and took us to local restaurants that  served authentic Vietnamese food.

We  saw some spectacular scenery and feel that we truly experienced the traditional way of life of the Vietnamese people. The trip was everything we were looking for and met all of our expectations. Thank you to Vivu travel and our entire team for making this trip a wonderful one with many photos and memories to cherish.

This was the biggest and one of the most important trips we ever did, and we had no idea where to even start after booking our flights to Cambodia and Vietnam.  From the very start, Ngoc and Vivutravel made it effortless!

We had let Ngoc know about our travel dates, the airport we would arrive at and would leave from, we gave her a list of what we had hoped to do in the time we had and our budget.  From there she was able to give us a realistic schedule to maximize our time and see as much as we hoped for and well within our budget with many flexible options to pick from. She also kept us grounded with our travel expectations because of the geography and time.  She was prompt in every email response and changed anything we needed.

Vivutravel and Ngoc were able to make this so effortless, stress free and seamless. We did not have to worry about any travel to and from any location, country visas, and were able to accommodate last-minute changes for us. From the minute we landed and every stop in between everything was arranged, and nothing was missed.

Every guide and driver they set us up with were amazing, friendly, and knowledgeable. The best thing about them and Vivutravel, is they kept us informed of every step in every city, and their service did not stop there. If we needed help for something to do or needed to find anything they would give us the best recommendation and would check in on us to see how we were doing and if anything else was needed to make sure we were having a great time.  It was like having your own personal concierge.

Each hotel they picked were in prime locations so that you could get or be anywhere.  The itinerary they helped us put together was the perfect mix of history, fun, culture, adventure and down time for our own time to explore. We honestly have no complaints.

Our only suggestions to Vivutravel would be a bigger or bolder sign for the guides at the airport. There are so many others there that sometimes it was hard to find our guide because all the signs were very similar.

The other would be to add more local, small and maybe less tourist locations/restaurants as an option so that you can see more of the beautiful real Vietnam and Cambodia instead of the ones geared towards tourists.

Also, options for different methods of travel, train, bus, etc.  We do not know if this is an option as we did not ask and did not have a great deal of time and they wanted to make sure we did as much as possible.

Meeting the team was truly wonderful, it made us feel like old friends, not just a customer and we have our gift on display in our home. When we get to come back, we will use this amazing service again and tell anyone we know!!

Vivutravel is Highly Recommended

In May 2023, my wife Catherine and I really enjoyed a superb three‐week tour of Vietnam and Cambodia with Vivutravel. The detailed itinerary was recommended by wonderful Vivutravel agent Ngoc with various itinerary amendment requests easily arranged. Ngoc communicated with us very well over several months and all documents including internal Vietnam flight tickets/visas and Cambodia flight tickets were provided electronically prior to our visit. With the help of a personal guide and driver at every location the whole trip went very smoothly.

The various vehicles were all new and comfortable. All the drivers and guides were very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. The hotels were high quality, and all lived up to our expectations. The selected restaurants were in good locations, with friendly atmospheres and enabled us to experience good quality local food.

Our trip started in North Vietnam and Leo made our visit to Hanoi, Sapa, Mount Fansipan, and Ha Long Bay extremely special. The overnight Dragon Legend boat trip at Ha Long Bay, complete with sunset, was a main highlight of the holiday. Leo our North Vietnam guide is highly recommended by us.

The flight on Vietnam Airlines from Hanoi to Danang (Hoian) was well organised. Our visit to Hoian was probably not long enough. A charming old port town. Great sunset on the beach. The flight on Vietnam Airlines from Danang to Ho Chi Minh was also well organised.

Our trip to Vietnam finished in the South with a visit to the Cu Chi tunnels and a fun Vespa dining tour of Saigon followed by a two‐day trip to Chau Doc via Ben Tre, Can Tho and the Mekong Delta. The Tra Su cajuput forest was amazing. Do, our South Vietnam guide was excellent. The five‐hour speed boat from Chau Doc to Phnom Penh along the Mekong River was unforgettable and great fun. The visa application at the Cambodia border was made very easy by the on‐board guide.

We were met in Phnom Penh by Sing, whose great knowledge gave us a good understanding about the City, Cambodia in general and its recent history. Our hotel overlooked the Royal Palace and we loved the funky Hornbill birds at Wat Phnom. Visits to the Toul Sleng museum and Cheung Ek are confronting but a must to understand the suffering in Cambodia only a few years ago. The flight on Cambodia Angkor Air was well organised. Our Southeast Asia trip ended in Siem Reap where Lonh skilfully guided us around the Angkor temples. After several terrific sunsets experienced in Vietnam the very early start for a glorious
sunrise at Angkor Wat was well worth it.

A visit to Pub Street via tuk tuk and some lovely Aspara dancing was a perfect finish to the holiday. Thank you to Vivutravel, Ngoc, Leo, Do, Sing, Lonh and all the drivers for making our trip one of our best holidays.

We have already recommended Vivutravel to some friends who are keen to visit South‐East Asia.
