Vietnam Airlines has officially opened a direct flight connecting Vietnam and India.
The first flight with the number VN5025, from Hanoi to New Delhi, landed safely at Indira Gandhi International Airport at 14:25 pm on June 15 (local time). The return flight number from New Delhi to Hanoi is VN5024, departed in the afternoon of the same day.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Bui Thanh Son attended and performed the opening ceremony of this flight.
The new route of Vietnam Airlines will make an important contribution to strengthening trade, cultural and social connections between Vietnam and India. Flights between Hanoi and New Delhi take off every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday; between Ho Chi Minh City and New Delhi take off every Thursday and Saturday. Flights are operated by wide-body, modern, new-generation Boeing 787 and Airbus A350 aircraft.
The total number of visitors between India and Vietnam in the pre-epidemic period in 2019 reached 319,000 arrivals, an increase of 35% compared to the same period last year. In particular, the capital New Delhi of India is the destination most visited by passengers from Vietnam.
