We were returning to South East Asia for a second time. Our first was a flying visit of just 8 days but it whetted our appetite to see more. This time we booked with Vivu Travel in Hanoi for a longer visit which included a short time in Cambodia where the highlight was the Angkor Complex. Hoai suggested this tour to us because it offered the chance of exploring in the Northern Highlands around Sapa as well as giving us significant time in Central Vietnam, including cooking classes which certainly appealed to my wife. Trung was our guide while we were in Hue and Hoi An and he was excellent when it came to answering our questions that ranged from history to the typical lives that locals live today. The floating markets in the Mekong Delta were another highlight before we finished by relaxing on Phu Quoc Island. We are happy to recommend Vivu Travel if you are thinking about an adventure in this part of the world. You won’t regret it; we certainly don’t.
I was familiar with Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City through business but I’d never had the time to really see much else. My wife and I decided on a holiday which Vivu Travel in Hanoi arranged; it included a short time in Cambodia. Angkor was a great start and subsequently we saw most of the highlights of Vietnam. That included exploring the natural environment and meeting the local people. The whole experience was memorable with the final leg on the coast where we tasted the best seafood dishes we could ever remember a fitting end to a great holiday.
We enjoyed relaxing on Phu Quoc Beach at the end of this stunning holiday. After everything that we did and saw over the previous couple of weeks, we deserved a rest. We would not change a thing about this great tour that Vivu Travel in Hanoi arranged for us. It had huge diversity, ranging from seeing the well-known highlights of Vietnam (and Cambodia) to enjoying the wonderful natural environment, particularly in the Northern Highlands around Sapa. Lan in the Hanoi Office was particularly helpful while our driver in the north, Hung was great. We certainly would not like to drive through Hanoi’s busy streets. The whole thing was a great experience and knowing Vivu Travel operates throughout South East Asia, we intend to be back in the future.
With college over, four of us decided that before we embarked on our careers, we would have a holiday together and decided on Vietnam because we all had an interest in modern history, and few things in Asia dominated the news in the second half of the 20th Century than the Vietnam War and Pol Pot and the Khmer Rouge. As it was, we saw the Viet Cong’s Tunnels just north of Ho Chi Minh City, the effects of American bombing in Central Vietnam and the Killing Fields in Cambodia. There was much more of course; we loved the narrow streets of Hanoi and what a way to finish a holiday, the beaches on Vietnam’s stunning coastline. Thanks must go to Vivu Travel who made all the arrangements for us, especially Giang up in the north. Nothing was too much trouble and the depth of knowledge of all the Vivu Travel staff was impressive.
A honeymoon should be special and ours certainly was. We are both fairly active people and didn’t really want to just lie in the sun. When we looked at the tours that Vivu Travel had available, we made up a short list of half a dozen but because we had the time, we decided to go for this tour of almost three weeks coving most of the highlights of Vietnam. We have special thanks for Trinh who was our first point of contact with its office in Hanoi and our guide in the North, Thuy who had some much information for us. We had many highlights in Vietnam while our time at the Angkor Complex in Cambodia was absolutely fantastic.
With the Children growing quickly, we realised that there would not be many more chances for us all to get away for a holiday together much longer. If it was going to be our last holiday before the children went away with friends rather than us, we thought it was important that it would be special. Vietnam had always been a dream of ours but once the kids came along, there was never really a chance. This was it and when we made contact with Vivu Travel, one of its travel consultants, Lan, talked to us about her country and all the great things there was to see. We took no persuading, and finally booked a holiday which also gave us the chance of a few days in Cambodia. If it is to be our last holiday all together, then perhaps Janet and I will be able to return to see more of this part of the world? We’ll certainly use Vivu Travel one again if we do but the children enjoyed it so much that they are hinting that they may join us again next year so we’ll see.
When I first looked at Vietnam as a possible holiday destination, I realised that I might need some help. The Internet is a great source of information and one of its strengths is that it provides a quick means of corresponding with specialists in a subject. In this case, I found Vivu Travel in Hanoi who were only too happy to answer my questions and provide additional advice on the region in general. I finally opted for this tour because of its coverage of Vietnam yet enjoyed the prospect of seeing the Angkor Complex near Siem Reap in Cambodia. I was not disappointed from the moment I set foot in Hanoi. My guide, Tien met me at the airport and got me to my hotel through the busy streets; thanks to the driver, Ha. The North was especially lovely with Halong Bay and the Red River Delta amongst the most stunning places I have ever visited. Even though the tour was fairly comprehensive, I want to return again in the future to see even more of this lovely country.
We were thinking about a honeymoon destination months before our wedding. We didn’t see ourselves lying on a sandy beach; it’s just not our thing. We are both setting out on careers with plenty of demands on our money but we wanted something memorable before the children came along. We are forever thankful that we found Vivu Travel whose travel consultant, Thuy suggested this fabulous tour. There wasn’t a single thing that we would criticize. The places and things we saw will live with us forever. Even travelling in Hanoi and its busy roads was fun, though that is thanks to our driver provided by Vivu Travel, Ha. We couldn’t imagine ourselves driving in the chaos of the city’s busy roads. We did manage a little cycling later during the holiday though there was barely any traffic on the quiet country roads between the fields where the villagers were busy at work. We are back home know and working regular hours on our new careers. There are many things that are motivating us as we build our futures but one of them is the thought that someday, we will get back to Vietnam and Cambodia.
We had always had a fascination with South East Asia without somehow getting the chance to visit. When we were left a little money by a spinster aunt, we thought ‘’why not!’’ As we began to read more about Vietnam, we realized that it was a large country which would involve plenty of travelling if we wanted to see it all. After we found Vivu Travel after searching for recommendations online, it had a solution to our wanting to cover the country without too many road hours; a tour using short flights. When Hoai suggested that we could also see Angkor in Cambodia within our budget, we jumped at the chance because it was unlikely that we would get to this part of the world again. It was a great pick and we will never forget this holiday of a lifetime which Vivu Travel made possible.
I’d travelled with Vivu Travel a few years ago, so I knew what to expect when I contacted the company again to talk about another holiday. Just as before, I was impressed by the quality of service right from the start. This time, the consultant I discussed things with was Kim. I finally decided on this tour because it contained most of the highlights of Cambodia and Vietnam without having to travel great distances over land. I was never left waiting at any airports and when there was free time, I was offered plenty of advice about the things I could do. A great experience which I may repeat in the future.
We’d used Vivu Travel in the past and as soon as we thought about another holiday, we immediately thought how well Hoai at Vivu Travel had organised our last trip to Indochina. We got in touch and liked the idea of this tour because it included Phnom Penh and Angkor as well as some of the places in Vietnam that we had enjoyed so much before. Thao was our guide in Vietnam and his knowledge of the places we visited added to the experience. Hanoi remains our favourite city in Vietnam and as Vivu Travel’s base, it is somewhere that the company knows intimately. We walked the narrow streets and enjoyed the street food as well. We hadn’t visited all the museums we wanted to last time we were in Hanoi and Vivu Travel ensured our itinerary allowed us some time in ones we especially wanted to visit. We’ll be back again in the future and will certainly talk to Hoai at Vivu Travel to make the arrangements.
