I am terribly sorry I have not written to you sooner, life is just so busy and our wonderful trip to Vietnam is just a distant memory. We look back at the photos and smile we had a fantastic time. So many friends and family have asked since our return "is Vietnam a good place to visit"? Our answer is always, most definitely!
As we were traveling with children, I am always very particular in what hotels we stay and what we see and do as they do get bored just driving around all day, the tour we had was the perfect balance for us all. We had no problems with transport, our hotels were definitely 5 star and our guides were so helpful and full of knowledge. Mark and I both learnt so much about Vietnamese history that we will keep this with us forever.
Hanoi was our favourite destination due to the fact we had a fantastic guide Nam. His English was great and his knowledge was amazing. We really enjoyed the food in Hanoi and the kids loved the Cyclo ride. Halong Bay was one of my favourites with our stay overnight on the boat was really enjoyable although poor Nicholas was sick for 4 days. Our two day stay in Hoi An was great, a time to relax by the beach after a hectic 7 days of non stop sightseeing. We relaxed by the pool, went Jet Skiing, hired Scooters and just chilled out. Hoi An is definitely a place we would go back to. Nicholas our 10 year old son was absolutely amazed with the Cu Chi Tunnels and the Vietnam War Museum, these two places were the highlight of his trip.
If you ask what were we not terribly fussed on it would be Hue. Hue was certainly full of history but it wasn't a place we would go back to visit. Our hotel was nice but the staff not very helpful and was full of mosquitos. We live in Queensland a place that is humid and has lots of mosquitos, so we are quite used to that, but when they are in our room, on us around the pool it dose take it's toll. Our guide in Hue, as lovely as she was, was not as good as Nam. Another thing we were not fussed with was the hotel we stayed at in Can Tho. This hotel was not the best but then the choices we had were very limited. Our trip down to the Mekong Delta was great, the markets amazing as Mark
loves to cook and the fresh produce available blew him away. Our guide in Ho Chi Minh and the Mekong Delta was fantastic, so very funny and we saw some amazing sights.
Thank you so much for all your help planning our Vietnam trip, your suggestions and your quick response to my emails gave me a sense of relief that I had chosen the best tour company to travel with in Vietnam. There are so many around but I will have no hesitations to recommend you to anyone that asks.
Many thanks
