Dear Nguyen,

Thank you for your mail, we had a great holiday and enjoyed our stay in Vietnam. As requested I will give some feedback:

Hanoi
        Hotel May de Ville hotel was fine, good location and close to old quarter, nice swimming pool
        one day was exactly ok for us to discover the city   

Trip to the North
        driver and guide were very nice and helpfull and knowledgeable
        cycling tour Ba Be National Park was ok, the bikes could have been better (far too small for western tourists, even for the kids)
        nice homestays, especially the second was great (so quiet and authentic, very hospitable)
        Ba Be National Park, the waterfalls and especially the small and less touristic villages were wellworth visiting despite the long drive
        Suggestion: if possible, drive straight to Halong Bay in stead of returning to Hanoi, that would save travel time.

Halong Bay:
        was, as expected touristic, but nice.
        Good program, good service and surprisingly nice food on board
        It is a pity that all tourists go to the same beach to swim and kayak, I guess this is regulated?

Hue
        the night train was fine
        scooter trip was very good, we all enjoyed the combination of sightseeing and the motorbike experience, the guide was very friendly and explained a lot
        the dragon boat at the end could have been skipped in the program in our view
        Romance Hotel was fine but we met dutch friends who stayed in the Pilgrimmage Collage Village somewhat outside Hue - definitely worthwhile to consider for other guests   

Hoi An
        very nice to have a couple of days free after a lot of travelling
        we liked Hadana resort: the swimming pool, nice rooms next to each other and bikes provided, good breakfast and link to very nice restaurant at An Bang beach
        fish and farming tour was a very good experience, with best lunch in Vietnam!   

Ho Chi Minh
        flight was fine but a train could perhaps have been as fast and cheaper and more environmental friendly?
        the guide for the trip to the tunnels was very bad (he arrived to late at the airport and was during the visit in a hurry, he did not explain hardly anything)
        Sunland hotel was moderate   

Trip to Mekong
        Again a lot of time in the car. If possible, it would be better to book a flight to the Mekong Delta from Hoi An and then drive back in stead of driving to the Mekong Delta and back?
        Hai Dao homestay was nice and calm
        guide was friendly and experienced
        first day with boat trip, ricksaw trip, the coconut village, the lunch with elephant-ear fish and cycling etc was very nice program
        the second day with only a bit of extra cycling and driving to Can Tho was not so interesting in our view, we arrived - even with a long lunch and spare time at the homestay-  already at 14:00 and it was not so interesting to spend a lot of time in Can Tho. Hotel was moderate
        visiting the market was nice but a bit disappointing (smaller then expected and we had the idea that we arrived to late at 7.30)
        visiting noodle factory and a fish market was interesting   

Con Dao
        although we were not so lucky with the weather, we had a nice stay at the island
        the resort had a nice beach, swimming pool and garden and was well situated close to the village. Service and rooms were moderate.
        besides the beautiful beach, we also liked the walks in the national park and understanding the history of the island with the prisons by motorbike
        due to strong winds and rain, unfortunately we could not snorkle/ dive. This would have been great as well, I am sure.

Overall, it was a great experience, visiting Vietnam was a pleasure and the trip was very well organised sothat we did not have to worry about anything.
